Thursday Highlights:

Lunch date! Clearly, I haven't seen Super Size Me yet..

Audrey got a makeover! I had to get a new windshield cause the old one had a crack in it, which freaked me out. I no longer have to be terrified that my windshield will suddenly shatter while I'm driving on the freeway. That's appreciating the simple things right there..

Don't judge the Starbucks cup too quickly. Because Starbucks with Rachel usually means a couple hours of really good conversation, ranging from movies to politics to school to nail polish. Yeah... it's great. :)

Hey Ya

I'm at what may be the only place in existence that makes you feel punished for going to school. 30 minutes down. 8 hours to go...

Luckily I have this wonderful video that can brighten anyone's bad day:

Yosemite Pt. 1

Back from Yosemite.. I may not have missed Southern California, but I definitely missed my bed. Anyway, can you picture walking outside and having that view be your backyard? John Muir was freaking awesome. Anyone who has never gone to Yosemite before should definitely go. And go this year, if possible, cause those waterfalls are amazing.

That hike killed me.. haha. I honestly feel like it gets harder every year. And I can't believe I'll be going back in about 2 weeks. Anyway, there were lots of highs and lows during this trip. So here's my list.. I make a lot of lists if you can't tell already.

Highs:
-Hanging out with good people
-Taking a break from work and the rest of life
-Seeing so many waterfalls since there was so much snow this year
-Seeing Yosemite falls for the first time (Strange cause it was my 3rd trip to Yosemite)
-Hiking up the Mist Trail at night
-Hiking with Mitchell for only the second time in life

Lows:
-Going on 3 hours of sleep on the hike
-Mentally psyching myself out on the cables
-Getting mad at myself for freaking about about the cables when I've already done it twice
-Camera battery "dying" on the top of Half Dome = no pictures (I turned it on at the end of the day and it had a full battery.)
-Hearing about the people going over the falls
-Saying goodbyes for almost a month

So on the way down from Half Dome, the Mist Trail (steps that go up along Vernal Falls and Nevada Falls) was closed off with yellow police tape. After talking to a ranger, we found out that 3 people had fallen in the water and were missing. And it kills me to know that this couple fell over Vernal Falls because they had climbed over the railing at the falls and didn't expect the water to be so strong. (You can read an article about it here.) So I ask my readers two things:

1. Pray for the family and friends of the victims, as well as the victims themselves.
2. Please, please be careful when on your vacations, and don't take simple things for granted. Life is too precious to lose it by ignoring signs and climbing to the edges of waterfalls.

Happy Birochday!

Are you ready for my awesome blog post? It's really not that awesome..
I tried to take pictures of the highlights of my day this week, so now you are all forced to look at them. (It's mostly food. That might tell you something about me..) Btw, if you are wondering why there are cheesy filters on my photos, it's because I got super bored earlier. Here we go...

-Monday: My boss decided that the kitchen could use a snow cone machine, since this summer has been proving to be a ridiculously hot one.
-Tuesday: I got me some new flippy floppies from REI. What makes these so awesome? They are made from yoga mats! These are like the memory foam mattresses 'cept for your feet.
-Wednesday: Giveaways at work may just be my favorite things about the job. Here lies 25 awesome gifts wrapped by Athena and me. If only I put in this much effort for the presents I give to my own family and friends..
-Thursday: Sometimes when you have rough weeks, you just need a doughnut to brighten up your morning. This week I had two. And my fun project at work this week: wrapping more gifts. Which I really loved doing.. It's also proof that Ruche isn't like anything other online clothing company. We found our top 3 customers and put together a gift worth over $150 for our birthday week.
-Friday/Saturday: Birthday cakes. I had a lot this week. Btw, how do you work at a cake shop and not know how to spell "birthday?"

Sorry if that was boring...
But now I have finally finished packing for the week for a beautiful trip to Yosemite. See you later, Southern California. I won't miss you much.

Raising Expectations

This marks the first night in a very, very long time when I have no obligations to be at a certain place at a certain time. And may I say.. it feels amazing. I finally get to do all of those small things I have been wanting to do all week. This includes (but is not limited to):

-laundry
-cleaning my room
-washing my car
-packing for Yosemite
-napping
-finally uploading pictures
-writing my letters
-updating the music on my ipod
-repainting the nails (maroon, on the off chance you were wondering)
-blogging

Hopefully I can finish most of this list tonight.. I'm grateful that I won't be too busy tomorrow too. Hopefully another post to come later tonight if I have time. I've been planning for this post all week. Be excited..

Pet Peeve

Which isn't really a pet peeve, but is more of something that just really grinds my gears: Being the scapegoat when other people are incapable of living up to their own mistakes. That basically made up my last two days... Luckily I had good company around to keep me sane. Now to attempt to just let it go and start over tomorrow.

Thank God I am leaving on Sunday for Yosemite for a few days. I definitely need this getaway..

Saturday:

Pretty bummed that I wasn't able to hike today, but after thinking about it more, I figure it would've been incredibly hot while hiking. And I got to sleep in this morning. So here is my overview of the day for my readers...

-woke up at 1pm
-watched a ton of Gilmore Girls and ate 3 sticks of string cheese
-went to Target and bought 4 things all for less than $10
-satisfied my crazy McDonald's french fries craving
-made a bracelet I've been wanting to make for months, maybe even a year (It only took me 2 hours..)
-watched more Gilmore Girls
-finished the last string cheese in the house, now I need more salty foods.

My beautiful creation
(found the tutorial to make it here)
